Description:

Landtran Logistics Inc. has a Full Time vacancy for a Class 3 with Air Brakes Physically Fit Delivery Driver in Winnipeg, Manitoba. You will be responsible for: general freight, deliveries, home delivery of medical supplies within Winnipeg, Manitoba and surrounding areas, (it may require occasional overnight trips) and occasional warehouse duties.

Education:

2 years to less than 3 years

Type of Trucking and Equipment:

Straight or articulated trucks with power tailgates

Type of Travel:

Documentation Knowledge:

  • Driver logbook (e-logs knowledge an asset)
  • Bill of lading
  • Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
  • Maintenance and repair reports
  • Accident or incident reports
  • Dangerous goods occurrence reports

Communication Equipment Experience:

Cellular phone, (PeopleNet Tablet knowledge an asset)

Weight Handling:

  • Up to 35 kg (77 lbs.)
  • We must insist that this will be a physically demanding job, as you will be responsible to sort and transport the freight into the patients home using a hand truck, so please consider this requirement before applying.

Specific Skills:

  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Loading and unloading of goods
  • Ensuring safety and security of cargo
  • Plan travel schedules and routes
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatcher
  • Transport hazardous products or dangerous goods
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness
