Landtran Systems Inc. is committed to Environmental Sustainability.

The owners, management and employees of Landtran Systems Inc. and the Landtran Group of Companies recognize that the work we perform and the services we provide have both direct and indirect effects on the environment. For this reason, we are committed to reducing our ecological footprint in order to maintain cleaner, safer communities for everyone.

We realize that the transportation sector has a responsibility greater than many to address fossil fuel emissions and to reduce its carbon footprint; we believe that now, more than ever before, our corporate goals must be aligned with society's environmental goals.

We are proud of the strides we have taken to date, and the initiatives that our companies have taken to reduce our ecological footprint. These initiatives are listed below.

We Replenish Our Tractor Fleet. Our business units are always upgrading their fleets to ensure we are working with advanced technology and fuel efficient models. When it comes time to purchase, we always try to replace older tractors with those at the forefront of clean energy and improved efficiencies.

We Use Auxiliary Power Units (APUs). APUs provide power to tractors so drivers can avoid idling and still be comfortable when parked for extended periods of time. We use APUs as a means to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

We Use Satellite Tracking Equipment. Using satellite tracking equipment allows us to gather vital data about driver routes and vehicle performance--helping to establish and maintain the highest efficiencies possible.

We employ Long-Combination Vehicle (LCV) configurations. LCV configurations reduce miles (and therefore, emissions) on designated highways.

We Implemented a Speed Policy. We have implemented a speed policy, which includes enforced fleet speed limits and speed governors to improve both safety and fuel efficiency.

We Implemented an Engine Idling Policy. Our engine idling policy is mandatory, and restricts engine idling hours.

We Recycle. We recycle paper and plastics in our offices and warehouses, with a goal to divert as much waste as possible.

We Educate for the Environment. Through environmental education, we are creating awareness and action among our employees and clients -- empowering all to become better stewards of the environment.

We Participate. Our business units participle with nationalized environmental conservation programs geared to the transportation industry, including Certified Fleet Smart (Natural Resources Canada) and Smart Way Transport Partnership (US Environmental Protection Agency).
